§ 9-6-12. Discharge Method Specified.

Latest version.
  • Storm water and all other unpolluted drainage shall be discharged to such sewers as are specifically designated as storm sewers, or a natural outlet approved in writing by the City Engineer. Industrial cooling water or unpolluted process waters discharged to a storm sewer or natural outlet requires a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit, and also requires written approval of the Director. The permit must be obtained prior to any discharge into a storm sewer or natural outlet. A person shall not make connection of roof downspouts, foundation drains, areaway drains, or other sources of surface runoff or groundwater to a building sewer or building drain which in turn is connected directly or indirectly to a public sanitary sewer.
