§ 18-1-13. Parking Prohibited in Specific Places.

  • No person shall park a vehicle:

    (a)

    At any place where official signs or markings prohibit parking or stopping.

    (b)

    No person shall move a vehicle not owned by such person into any prohibited area or away from the curb such distance as is unlawful, except that this provision shall not interfere with the moving of vehicles by police authority.

    (c)

    In a parking space in any City-owned or maintained parking facility or lot where official signs or markings have been placed indicating that the space is reserved unless the parked vehicle is displaying, in conformity with regulations issued by the Chief of Police, a parking permit issued by the City. Reserved parking spaces are described in Schedule XX. The Durgin Block Garage is excluded from this subsection.

    (d)

    In front of a passageway used by the physically handicapped which has been authorized under the provisions of Section 18-1-19 and which has been suitably marked with the wheelchair symbol as defined in RSA 275-C:9(I)(a).

    (e)

    In a parking space in the Durgin Block Garage that has been designated as a reserved space by the City Manager and is posted as reserved unless authorized by the lessee of the space to park therein. The City Manager shall file a list of designated spaces with the City Clerk.
