§ 5-4-11. Owners of Electric Wires, Poles or Fixtures Shall Keep Them in a Safe Condition.

Latest version.
  • At any time when the owners of electric wires, poles or fixtures shall neglect to repair and keep them in a safe condition, to the satisfaction of the Board, upon four (4) days notice to said owners or any agent and a hearing, may order the removal forthwith of said wires, poles and fixtures; and any permit previously obtained shall thereby be revoked. Such owner shall pay to the City the expense of removing wires, poles and fixtures which are not kept in repair and in safe condition. Nothing in this section shall be construed as exempting the owners of said wires from frequent and careful inspection of the same by their own agents; but the inspection by a municipal officer is in addition to such inspections, and intended as another safeguard to protect the public from injury and damage.
