Appendix 29. Appointive Officers.

There shall be appointed by the City Manager three (3) Assessors; a City Clerk; Treasurer; Tax Collector; Police Chief; Fire Chief; Welfare Director; City Solicitor whose appointment shall be subject to confirmation by vote of the City Council; and such other officers as are necessary to administer all departments which the City Council shall establish. Assessors shall, prior to appointment, have demonstrated knowledge of property appraisal or assessment and of the laws governing the assessment and collection of property taxes. The powers and duties of these officers and heads of departments so appointed shall be those prescribed by state law, by this Charter or by Ordinance.
