§ 30-1-4. Selection, Qualifications, Compensation and Terms of Office of Department Heads.

(a)

All department heads shall be appointed by the City Manager, for indefinite terms, on the basis of merit and fitness to perform these duties and may be removed by the City Manager for misconduct or inefficiency upon written charges and after a public hearing before the Personnel Advisory Board if requested.

(b)

The compensation of all department heads shall be fixed by the general compensation plan of the City, except the City Solicitor.
