§ 18-1-10. Standing or Parking Positions.

  • No person shall stand or park a vehicle in a roadway other than parallel with edge of roadway, headed in the direction of traffic, and with right side wheels of the vehicle within twelve (12) inches of the edge of the roadway, except as provided in the following paragraphs:

    (a)

    Upon those streets which have been designated in Schedule IV, attached to and made a part of these regulations, vehicles shall be parked to the curb as prescribed by this schedule.

    (b)

    When a horsedrawn vehicle, truck trailer or tractor-trailer is backed to the curb for the purpose of loading or unloading merchandise, the horse, truck or tractor shall be turned so as to stand as near parallel to the curb as possible. No person shall stand or park a vehicle so as to obstruct the view of any traffic control device to other drivers traveling upon such street.

    (c)

    No vehicle used for the transportation of merchandise or materials shall park within areas which are signed with appropriate signs indicating that such parking is prohibited.
