§ 5-4-1. Telephone Poles and Wires Subject to Conditions Laid Down by Director of Public Works, City Engineer, and Planning Director.

  • No person, company, or corporation shall hereinafter erect, construct, put up, or maintain any pole, wires, terminal, or other electrical appliances for telephonic, telegraphic, electric power or electric lighting, or for any other purpose, along, across, under or over any public street without permission having first been obtained from a board composed of the Director of Public Works, City Engineer, and the Planning Director, and no such license shall be granted by said board except upon written application stating for what purpose or purposes said wire or wires are to be used; and all licenses so issued shall forever thereafter be subject to such alterations, and requirements as said board may from time to time impose, and further subject to revocation when in the judgment of said board the public interests will be best served thereby, and all poles, wires, terminal or other electrical appliances now in use shall be subject to the same conditions.
