§ 13-6-10. Abatement of Amplified Sounds.

  • (a)

    A person shall not use or operate or cause to be used or operated any mechanical device, machine, apparatus, or instrument for the reproduction, intensification, or amplification of the human voice, music, or any sound or noise from any public or private place in such manner that the peace and good order of the neighborhood is disturbed or that persons owning, using, or occupying property in the neighborhood are disturbed or annoyed.

    (b)

    A person shall not operate any sound or public address system upon the streets, lanes, alleys, or sidewalks of the City without first securing a permit for the same from the Chief of Police. Such permit shall state the time, place, nature of the material to be broadcast, and such other details as the Chief of Police shall determine. The fee for such permit shall be as listed in Schedule I of Chapter 1.
